How it works..

Membership of HOMES4U is open to anyone seeking accommodation in the Vale of Glamorgan.

 

To Register..

To be a member of HOMES4U all applicants must complete an application form. Your details will then be placed on the Housing Register and you will be provided with a Priority Banding based on your housing circumstances. You will be informed of this in writing with your registration number and membership card.

 

To Choose a Property..

Properties that are available are advertised every fortnight. The adverts open on a Thursday at 8.30 a.m. and close the following Wednesday at 5.00 p.m. Adverts are placed in the Barry and District News, Penarth Times,  and The Gem Newspapers. You can also view adverts in local offices in Barry, Llantwit Major, Cowbridge and Penarth, and on the HOMES4U web page www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/homes4u .

You can bid for properties by telephone, in writing, by email, or in person at the office in Barry.

 

To Allocate..

When the advert closes all bids received are checked and verified. Properties are advertised based on priority banding. Where more than one applicant has the same priority banding the property will be allocated to the person who has the earliest registration date. The priority banding groups are:

To Feedback..

When properties have been allocated, regular feedback will be published in future adverts. This information will show  the property address, registration date and the number of bids received.
