Land Charges
Based within Corporate Support Services, the Land Charges Unit
maintains a Register of Charges against properties and land within
the Vale of Glamorgan.
The purpose of a Local Search is to supply the
homebuyer with information about the property he / she may be
buying. The homebuyer would inform their solicitor acting for
them to proceed with the Local Search.
Local Searches can be received by the Council
in three ways ::
- Computerised searches via NLIS Providers
- Postal
- Direct Exchange
The turnaround time for a Local Search is an average of 5 to 10
working days.
