Homelessness Strategy
The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all councils to produce a
Homelessness Strategy. We place a high priority on tackling
homelessness and welcomed the opportunity to develop a strategic,
multi-agency approach to dealing with homelessness in the
County.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council and the Vale Housing &
Homelessness Forum are jointly developing a Homelessness Strategy
to co-ordinate services to tackle homelessness within the Vale. An
important priority for the partners was the commissioning of
specific research on homelessness within the Vale.
Local Housing Strategy
Our Local
Housing Strategy Plan PDF identifies the Vale's Housing
priorities for the medium to long term.
Housing Market Analysis
One of the key requirements of preparing local housing
Strategies is that they are underpinned by a robust assessment of
housing need and demand, addressing the requirements of all housing
tenures. This comprehensive housing assessment - the Housing Market
Analysis - is required to:
- Provide a sound evidence base for the authority's five-year
local housing strategy;
- Establish a more convincing rationale for allocating resources
to tackle identified problems;
- Promote a common information platform that can have wider uses,
for instance the development of the Unitary Development Plan and
the authority's community strategy;
- Contribute to achieving the local authority's goals under the
Wales Programme for Improvement; and
- Offer wider partnership benefits, increasing information
sharing, common understanding and a more inclusive housing
strategy.

Black & Minority Ethnic Housing Strategy
The Vale of Glamorgan Council and Partners have jointly
developed a Black and Minority Ethnic Housing Strategy and Action
Plan. To produce such a Strategy and Action Plan is now a
requirement for all Welsh social housing landlords set out by the
Welsh Assembly Government in its Black and Minority Ethnic Housing
Action Plan for Wales.
Supporting People Operational Plan
Our Supporting People Operational Plan identifies the Vale's
supported housing priorities for the medium to long term. Download
