Supporting People is a national framework for
planning, delivering and monitoring housing
related support services.
Supporting People administers grant funding to
service providers to deliver a range of housing related support
services which can include:
- Direct access accommodation, including
hostels and domestic abuse refuges
- Shared temporary accommodation and shared
housing
- Supported housing
- Sheltered housing
- Floating support
- Homeless preventative work
- Crisis intervention
- Low level and ongoing support
- Community alarm services
The Supporting People programme in the Vale of
Glamorgan is managed by the Supporting People team located within
Public Sector Housing. The team have responsibility for:
- Mapping existing housing related support
services
- Evidencing the need and demand for housing
related support services
- Evaluating the ‘outcomes’ achieved by
Supporting People services
- Planning and shaping future service
provision
- Monitoring and reviewing existing
services
- Ensuring service providers comply with grant
and contract requirements
- Listening to service users views
