Small Grants Scheme
Many community groups and organisations have benefited from the
Small Grants Scheme, including welfare and senior citizen groups,
performing arts groups, youth organisations, sports teams, and
other recreation groups.
Funding priorities
No funding priorities are given, but applicants need to show how
their project would contribute to the Council's corporate
priorities. Funding is available each year on a one-off basis.
Grant Levels
Awards made are usually around £500.
Timetable
Although applications will be considered throughout the year
subject to available resources, each year applications are formally
invited in December for return by the end of January. The Cabinet
then considers applications in March and applicants can expect to
hear a decision in April. Due to limited resources, an early
application is recommended in order to avoid disappointment.
Applications are not accepted from individuals, or from national
organisations (unless the organisation has a local branch within
the Vale).
The Council's corporate priorities include:
Lifelong Learning: Promotion of the culture of lifelong learning
for all
Community Leadership: Promotion of a sense of community pride
and active citizenship.
Economic Regeneration: Promotion of a diversified and
sustainable economy
The Environment: Promotion of the use of sustainable
practices
Community Well Being: Promotion of a safe and healthy community
in which to live
