Priorities for funding

 

Projects seeking funding should meet the priority for funding determined for that years programme.

 

The priorities for funding from the 2005/6 programme are:

Community Safety, projects that

- Target and reduce crime.

- Reduce the level of drug and alcohol related crime and disorder.

- Help create a safer environment for communities.

 

Health and Well Being, projects that

- Enable vulnerable adults and their carers to live as independently as possible.

- Ensure local housing enhances the quality of life for residents.

- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

- Promote the health and general well-being of all Vale of Glamorgan residents.

 

Lifelong Learning, projects that

- Directly promote life chances, individual self esteem, potential, and independence.

- Engage young people in decision making.

 

Environmental Improvements, projects that

 

- Encourage the conservation, reuse and recycling of resources.

- Improve rundown and derelict sites for the benefit of the local community.

 

Maximum / Minimum Grant Levels

The maximum / minimum grant in any year is £35,000 / £3,000 respectively.

 

Applications below this minimum should be made under the Council's Community / Voluntary Organisations Small Grants Scheme.

 

Timetable

Applications will be invited in May for return by the end of July. Applications are considered by the Council's Voluntary Sector Joint Liaison Committee in September and decisions notified to applicants during October.
