You can register a birth within the Vale of Glamorgan at any of
the offices listed below
Baby born within the Vale of Glamorgan
If the baby was born within the Vale of Glamorgan you can
register the birth at any of the offices listed below. Once the
paperwork has been completed the registrar will issue certificates.
You will receive a free short Birth Certificate and a notification
to register the baby with your local family doctor.
If you require a full copy of the birth entry at the time of
registration please let the registrar know. A full copy of the
birth entry will cost £3.50 per certificate issued.
If you are unable to attend one of the local offices listed, you
can attend at any Register Office within England and Wales to
complete and sign relevant paperwork “declaration”. If you decide
to use this facility your “declaration” will be forwarded to us and
your certificates issued to you in the post.
Baby born outside the Vale of Glamorgan
If your child was born outside the Vale of Glamorgan you can
either:
go to the Register Office in the district where the birth
occurred and sign the actual register yourself. Certificates can be
issued to you in person at the same time or,
you can complete and sign paperwork “declaration” at the
Vale of Glamorgan Register Office. The declaration is then sent to
the district where the birth occurred and written into the register
without your presence. Certificates are then issued to you through
the post.

Parking Facilities
Limited car-parking facilities are available for customer use
(accessible via Dock View Road) at the Civic Offices, Monday –
Friday, with an overflow car park at Barry Leisure Centre also
available. Unlimited spaces are available at the Civic Offices at
weekends.
Visitors should report to the reception desk on the ground
floor, where you will be directed to the Register Office.
