Community Strategy 2011-21

Vale of Glamorgan Community Strategy 2011-21

A new Community Strategy for the Vale of Glamorgan has been produced and represents a more coordinated approach to improving the quality of life in the Vale.

The Strategy covers the period 2011-21 and builds on the previous Strategy whilst incorporating a number of key partnership plans and strategies. The Strategy includes:

Integrating all of these strategies into one document has been a complex task but has also highlighted opportunities for joint working.

The Strategy has been developed by a range of partners to ensure we have identified the right priorities for the Vale.

Consultation

Consultation on the draft Strategy ran for 12 weeks from 24 January to 17 April 2011. The purpose of the consultation was to find out if we have got the right Strategy. Have we identified the right priorities and will the proposed actions deliver the intended outcomes?

The consultation included a Local Service Forum Event which was attended by a range of partners. Reports on the Local Serivce Forum event and the consultation process have been prepared.

Delivery Plan

A three-year delivery plan has been developed which provides more detail about when activities will be undertaken and by whom.

Annual Report

The Annual Report is divided into six sections to reflect what has been achieved by the key partnerships who lead on different priority outcomes. Each section provides information on performance and outcomes, data development, challenges and key actions for 2012/13. Achievements should be viewed in the context of what the starting point was for the Strategy.

Needs Assesments

The new Community Strategy was underpinned by a unified needs assesment which was informed by the individual needs assesments below and helped establish the priorities. More information about the unified needs assesment can be found here>

Equality Impact Assesment

As part of the development of the Community Strategy an Equality Impact Assesment was undertaken.
