summary.
Area Working
The Vale of Glamorgan Local Service Board (LSB) has agreed to
establish three area working groups following a study into the
potential of area working in the Vale. Partners have agreed that
area working should be organised on three geographical areas:
- Barry (Council to Chair)
- Central and Western Vale (Police to Chair)
- Eastern Vale (Cardiff and Vale UHB to Chair)
The Cardiff and Vale College,
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Vale Centre for Voluntary
Services will also be part of the area groups. Common terms of
reference have been developed for the area working groups who will
meet for the first time in September.
The area groups will take a
strategic view of their area and take 3 or 4 key points linked to
the Community Strategy and build an action plan to address these
issues. Heads of Service have been asked to suggest issues
that could be taken forward by the area groups. More information on
the areas can be found on the Area Working page.
The LSB will continue to oversee the work
of the three area groups through its Implementation Group.
