The planning and controlling of
development is part of the Planning and Transportation Division,
based at the Dock Office in Barry.
The Planning department deals with the following services:
Planning
Applications
Application Forms and details of fees, as well as Planning
Advice and Guidance, Lists of Applications Received and Decisions
made and details of Committee Meetings and Reports.

Policy
The Unitary Development Plan, as well as the Local Development
Plan and Supplementary Planning Guidance. Conservation Areas and
Listed Buildings are also dealt with.
Building
Control
The implementation of the Building Acts, and the requirement for
developers and individuals to comply with Building Regulations in
relation to new development, extensions and adaptations to
buildings.
