Building Control
The Building Control department deals with the following
areas:
Applications for Building Regulations Approval
Processing applications relating to building regulations for new
developments and undertaking inspections to ensure compliance with
building regulations.
General advice and pre-submission advice
Providing advice to prospective developers and the general
public prior to submission of building regulation submissions.
Enforcement of regulations
Any undertaking of work without building regulations consent is
unauthorised. Onsite inspections are carried out and
complaints/concerns from the public investigated.

Dangerous Buildings - Any building regarded as
dangerous is investigated with the objective of making such
structures safe and alleviating any danger to the public.
Demolition work-safety - Ensuring that any
demolition is carried out in a safe manner
Derelict property - Investigating any ruinous
and dilapidated buildings and seeking remedial measures
Securing Buildings Public Health Risks -
Protecting non-residential buildings posing a risk to the
public
Sports ground Safety - Ensuring that sports
grounds are safe for public use

Submit a Plan
You can visit the Submit-a-Plan website if you would like to
submit a planning application online. You can also track your
applications through Track-a-Plan, allowing you to see the progress
of your application.
