Vale of Glamorgan Local Development Plan
Your Vale - Your Future
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is preparing a new Local
Development Plan (LDP), which will set out how land within the Vale
of Glamorgan is used between 2011 and 2026. This includes
everything from housing developments, community facilities and
employment opportunities to transport, waste management and
retailing. When adopted, the LDP will replace the current Adopted
Unitary
Development Plan (UDP).
Current Position
Since the close of the public consultation on the Deposit LDP
(February 2012) and accompanying documents, the Council has
reviewed the representations received and considered a report on
the various options available to the Council as follows:
On 23 January 2013, the Council resolved not
to progress any further with the Deposit LDP (February 2012) and to
commence work immediately on a replacement Deposit LDP. The Deposit
Plan will be based on the Strategy approved in 2010, but will seek
to address the main concerns raised during the previous Deposit LDP
consultation in 2012, in particular the associated infrastructure
required.
What happens next?
Subject to the agreement of the revised draft LDP timetable by
the Welsh Government, it is anticipated that a Deposit LDP and
associated documents will be published for public consultation
purposes in Autumn 2013. At this time, interested parties will have
the opportunity to comment on the Deposit LDP.
