The Vale of Glamorgan Council puts in place both statutory and
non-statutory emergency plans to guide them in the event of a major
emergency.
What is an emergency?
It is "...an exceptional event that exceeds the normal response
capacity of an Organisation. It is a serious disruption to life
such as the death of or injury to large numbers of people,
extensive damage to property, or wide spread contamination of the
environmentIt requires the implementation of special arrangements
by one or more of the Emergency Services or the Local
Authority..."
The Vale of Glamorgan Council will look initially to support the
Emergency Services, and in the longer term to restore and
regenerate the community.
