Reporting a crime

Police - Vale of Glamorgan Division: The police in the Vale can be contacted by a 24-hour staffed switchboard on 01446 734451. Tell the operator the reason for your call, whether it is urgent, and from where you are ringing. In the case of an emergency use the '999' emergency service.

 

Non-emergency minor crime notification: You can report online incidents of theft, criminal damage / vandalsim, theft from a motor vehicle, and damage to a motor vehicle. (Please don't report road traffic accidents / collisions or any other crimes on this site!).

 

Crimestoppers: If you have information about crime that you want to share, you can call this independent charity (free) on 0800 555 111. You can give information about crimes that affect you and your local community without giving your name or address. Your calls arent traced and youll never have to give a statement or go to court.

 

Preventing crime

Crime prevention & advice: Information and advice from the Home Office about home security, personal safety, retail and business crime, vehicle crime, local partnership, and general support and advice.

 

Crime Prevention for older people: A downloadable factsheet (.Pdf) from Age Concern, offering crime prevention tips.

 

Crime Reduction: Provides community safety and crime prevention practitioners with information and advice to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in their local area.

 

Support for victims

Victim Support South Wales: Helps residents cope with the effects of crime by providing confidential support and information to victims and to witnesses attending local courts.

 

Domestic Violence: Details of local refuges for women who are victims of domestic violence, provided by Womens Aid.
