Our staff
All our staff receive training in areas that range from moving
and handling clients, to understanding disability. Our aim is to
equip staff members with the particular skills required to meet the
needs of the clients, which will differ from centre to centre.
How do I access these services?
You can ask for a Community Care Assessment to find out whether
you can use any of these services. This will be carried out by a
Care Manager, who may be either a Social Worker or a Community
Nurse. If the criteria are met and a place is available, we will
put together an activity plan or day service plan.
Transport
Transport may be available to and from centres and activities,
depending on the clients needs, as identified in the assessment.
There may also be a drop in facility for those who are more active
and independent, and who dont have an assessment and dont need
transport.
Paying for services
There may be a charge for the service, depending on your
financial circumstances. Some people receive a free service, whilst
others pay an assessed charge. You will be told if there is a cost
before deciding whether you wish to receive the service.
These charges don't cover provision in partnership with
other agencies including:
- Luncheon Clubs in Penarth, Cowbridge, Rhoose and Barry
- In Southways, Cowbridge (for Older People), Bryneithin for
E.M.I.
- Small scale projects for people with a learning disability
- Community Education programme
- Open employment and work experience
