Highway Maintenance

The Highways and Engineering Division is responsible for the maintenance of all adopted highways in the Vale of Glamorgan and associated infrastructure.

 

The Highways and Engineering section is certified to the Green Dragon Environmental Standard Level 5.

Maintenance

  • maintain the adopted highway and associated street furniture
  • control contractors working on the adopted highway
  • maintain street lights, traffic signals, illuminated bollards
  • prevent ice and snow from forming on the highway

Traffic and structures

  • inspect and maintain bridges and major highway structures
  • provide an in-house design service
  • provide a traffic management service
