Updates to the published Vale of Glamorgan Public Transport Guide

Service 245 (Llantwit Major - Bridgend College)

New commercial service provision provided by First Cymru to provide one return journey between Llantwit Major and Bridgend College on college days only (Mondays to Fridays). Effective from Monday, 31 October 2011.

Services 801 and 803 (Pencoed College)
These services are withdrawn with effect from 1 September.

Service 96 (Barry - Cardiff) Revised service
Revised service via Lansdowne Road and Wellington Street in Cardiff; not via Cowbridge Road East. This was a commercial decision by Cardiff Bus to restore punctuality to the service.

Village Bus Group of Services

These services are now operated by Watts Coaches of Bonvilston; Telephone: 01446 781277. Services V3 and V4 (Cowbridge to Bridgend) have been amalgamated into the V1 and V2 Services, which now run through from Llantwit Major to Bridgend via Cowbridge and villages on route (service numbers V3 and V4 have been withdrawn, but service provision has not). Some minor timetable changes have been applied although timings throughout the network remain relatively unchanged, but passengers are advised to check the new timetables before travelling. Certain route changes have also taken place, especially in Cowbridge Town Centre where certain journeys will run direct through the High Street and in Bridgend Town Centre, as most journeys will only serve the bus station, not the town centre itself. This is to improve timekeeping. Passengers are advised to check the new timetables below for further information.

Service X2 (Porthcawl - Cardiff via Bridgend, Cowbridge and A48)

The 09:30 journey from Bridgend to Porthcawl will be re-timed to run 10 minutes later, Mondays to Fridays with effect from Monday, 3 October 2011.

Service X5 (Llantwit Major - Cardiff) Sundays and Bank Holidays: Correction to published timetable. The service runs via Civic Office bus stops in both directions and NOT via Adams Funeral Directors along Gladstone Road between Broad Street and Buttrills Road roundabout on route to Cardiff.

Service X46 (Cardiff Airport - Cardiff)
The service will be revised with regard to route and timetable to run via the Murch area of Dinas Powys with effect from Wednesday 21 September 2011.

Pre-payment Travel Cards

Whilst the Vale of Glamorgan Council requires operators to accept tickets issued by other operators for travel in this area on its supported services, the same will not be applied to the acceptance of other operators pre-payments cards (e.g. Cardiff Bus “Iff” Card).

Millennium Stadium Events

Passengers are advised that when large events take place at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, bus services can be disrupted and terminate prior to Cardiff Bus Station. www.millenniumstadium.com/events

The Vale of Glamorgan Council makes every effort to provide up to date public transport information with regards to services provided by various private operators on our web site, public transport guides and at bus stops. However, due to the fact that operators can make changes to their commercially operated services at any time and limited Council resources, this Authority is unable to guarantee the accuracy of information provided at all times. Therefore, please check with the service operator or Traveline (0871 200 22 33) prior to travel.
