Traffic lights
Generally, traffic lights are found at busy junctions. When
planning your route, you may be able to avoid them. Alternatively,
you may choose to get off your bicycle and cross the junction by
walking.
Toucan crossings
‘Two-Can’ crossings are designed for use by both pedestrians and
cyclists.
They are often on cycle routes at a point where they meet busy
roads. They differ from Pelican or Puffin crossings as they have a
‘Green Cycle’ symbol on the control box (where you press the
button), to let cyclists know when they should cross.
