C-Card Scheme

The Vale of Glamorgan Youth Service C-Card Scheme aims to bring about a reduction in sexually transmitted infections, increase sexual health information, reduce pregnancy rates for young people aged between 14 and 25 years and allows young people to access condoms in their leisure time.

Initial consultation was held between designated health professionals, Youth Service and YPP Co-ordinator in order to ascertain the best approach for project implementation.  Accredited training was offered to a wide variety of organisations, e.g .statutory organisations, voluntary organisations, nurses, sure start, careers etc. The Scheme is delivered throughout the Vale of Glamorgan, including Youth Centres, existing Drop-in Centres, nurses, careers and outreach teams.
