Youth Work Curriculum
What is the Curriculum?
A curriculum is defined as a programme of
study. In youth work it is a philosophical concept surrounding the
truths, principles and morals of life which assists young people to
become more socially, politically and culturally aware through a
process known as Social Education.
What does the youth work curriculum include?
In order to meet the needs of all young
people, the youth service curriculum must be broad and provide
opportunities for progression. The youth service matrix identifies
what is delivered at each youth provision.
What are the issues that affect young people?
In order to develop a broad, balanced and
effective curriculum that will assist young people during the
transition into adulthood it is essential that we are aware of the
issues of concern and interest to them.
