Aims
The main aims of the project are:
To prepare young people for adulthood at 16+
To provide choices for progression into further education, training, or the workforce
To enable young people to have an alternative education or practical issues appropriate to their lifestyles
To provide a stable, caring, structured environment for students which will allow them to grow in self-worth and to develop caring for others.
To provide a rich curriculum (in line with the National curriculum), which will foster and encourage the student’s enjoyment of education and development to the limit of their academic, physical and practical ability.
To provide a range of opportunities for full or part-time re-integration into mainstream schooling.
To develop a mutually supportive network with parents, which will help students at school and in their own family and community.
To establish and maintain good working relationships and networks with other organisations, agencies and schools to promote and protect the interests of our students and their families
Achievable outcomes are:
Increased attendance
Higher levels of motivation and self esteem
Reduced disaffection and unknown destiny at 16+
Achievement through accreditation and rewards on “bite sized” pieces of learning
