The Point is the overall strategy for Participation in
the Vale of Glamorgan.

What is Participation?
You have the right to be involved in
making decisions, planning and reviewing action that might affect
you and your family and friends. Your voice, your
choice!
You can get involved with...
- Helping to design your local skate park
- Improving bus services near you
- Helping recruit youth workers
- Organising gigs and other activities in your area
- Campaigning against vandalism and litter in your
neighbourhood
- Inspecting youth organisations against the National
Participation Standards
- Becoming a school council rep or youth forum member
The Point can offer you a wide range of information, from how to
get involved in decision-making to informing you of your rights and
entitlements.
The Point will also support the development of youth forums, youth
committees or focus groups and school councils within the Vale of
Glamorgan.

Choices / Dewisiadau
A group young people in the Vale of Glamorgan were asked to
create a bilingual rap to help highlight young people's rights in
Wales. The aim of the rap was to promote the United Nations
Convention on the Rights of the Child, and to raise awareness of
the National Children and Young People's Participation Standards
for Wales.
With a little help from some tutors and youth workers the group
wrote, recorded and produced a music video within 4 days.
