Consultation in Social Services
Both corporately and within Social Services, we are
committed to listening to and learning from the views of the
public. We see this as key to improving the quality of our
services.
As part of this, we consult with individuals and groups in
the Vale community and aim to feed this information back into
developing future policies and services. Some groups and
individuals have expert knowledge to contribute, while others have
strong opinions on certain issues they would like to make known.
Others who have had previous experience of our services are also
consulted to gain their feedback to improve on existing
services.
We also aim to involve as many people as possible, using a
variety of methods. Our Public Engagement Strategy explains how we
are doing this in further detail below.
If you're interested in reading our full Code of Practice for
carrying out written consultations, which applies to all Council
directorates, you can view it from the main consultation
page. This might be of particular interest to those individuals
and groups who have responded to Council consultations in the past,
or who believe they should have had better opportunities to put
across their views on developing policy and services.
Several local and regional partnerships have been set up - as
well as various forums - to let members of the public and other
organisations have a say in the way services are provided and
developed.
By visiting the links to the left, you can find out more
about these partnerships and how you can become involved.
You can find details of our consultations for Social Services
below. If you are interested in Consultations taking place in other
Council directorates, please visit the main Consultation
page.
