The Corporate Plan is the key Council policy document. The plan is in place for a four-year period and sets out how the Council will help achieve the vision as outlined in the Community Strategy. The council approved a new plan on the 6 March 2013.
The Local Government (Wales) Measure 2009 places a duty on the Council to publish annual Improvement Objectives. The forward looking plan outlines our improvement objectives and how we propose to deliver them over the next 12 months.
Each year the Vale of Glamorgan Council produces its Improvement Plan, which details what the
council has achieved over the previous year and what it aims to achieve in the coming year. This

Service Plans are the key planning documents for the Council. The plans set out the key outcomes and objectives relevant to each service area. Service Plans have changed for 2013/14 and now sit at Directorate level.
Team plans provide a link between the service plan and individual work programmes. They identify those improvement and service objectives that are relevant to the team and lists actions, performance measures and targets that support those objectives and against which the team will be monitored.
