Cymorth

 

two boys Cymorth is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative providing funding "to provide a network of targeted support for children and young people within a framework of universal provision, in order to improve the life chances of children and young people from disadvantaged families."

 

It builds on the previous programmes Sure Start, Children and Youth Partnership Fund, Childcare Strategy, Youth Access and Play grant.

 

 

Services are developed to support five overarching themes:

  • ­Family support
  • Health improvement
  • Play, leisure and enrichment
  • Empowerment, participation and active citizenship
  • Training, mentoring and information

Children's and Young People's Partnership

  • Determine the strategic priorities and outcomes for Cymorth for their age group
  • Establish performance indicators
  • Monitor and evaluate the agreed actions/targets arising from the Cymorth plan for their age group
  • Facilitate the engagement of the wider voluntary and statutory sector in the implementation, effectiveness and review of the Cymorth plan for their age group.

The Children and Young People's Partnership is ultimately responsible for Cymorth and its role is to:

  • ­Ensure the strategic priorities determined by the Children's and Young People's Partnership are complementary and joined up
  • Determine the Cymorth funding allocation
