Voluntary Sector and Social Services Workshop
A successful workshop was held on June 12th to
look at how Social Services and the Voluntary Sector can work
together more effectively, particularly focusing on the
commissioning process.
Over 60 people attended the day, and groups of people from both
sectors discussed what needs to be improved, with suggestions as to
how this can be achieved. The key priorities will be brought
together into an action plan for the future.
There were three presentations at the beginning of the workshop
giving: a national perspective from Martyn Palfreman, SociaI
Services Improvement Agency; a Vale perspective from Simon Salter,
Social Services Manager; and a provider perspective from Ron Woods,
