Chief Executive's Directorate

How the Directorate is organised:
The Chief Executive, John Maitland Evans (right), is in overall
charge of the Council's administration. There are five Divisions
within the Chief Executive's Directorate, split into a number of
Sections.
1. Chief Executive's Office
- Chief Executive's Office: Head of the Paid Service; Policy
Advisor; Community Leadership; Corporate Management of the
Council
2. Corporate Policy
- Corporate Policy: Strategic Direction; Performance Management;
Change Programme; Policy Development and Implementation
- Improvement and Development: Improvement Plan & Reviews;
Regulation, Development & Implementation of Corporate Policies;
Performance Management Framework
- Policy Section: Community Planning, Procurement, European
Affairs
3. Customer Relations
Overall responsibility for the council’s customer contact
strategy, or in other words the customer experience for all
interactions; whether face to face, over the phone, through the
website or via email. This includes dealing with complaints
to improve the service we give our customers.
Manages the OneVale Project. OneVale is about changing the way
the council works and challenging our processes to make sure that
the customer comes first. We’re looking at what customers
really want and how they want to get in touch with us – whether
it’s by using our website, e-mail, text message, face to face
contact or phone.
Also part of the Customer Relations family (although based in
the Civic Offices) is Electoral Registration, Civic Offices
Reception and Corporate Complaints.

6. Equalities
The Equalities Team is responsible for key policies and
guidance, linked to legislation and good practice, on race,
disability, gender, Welsh language, age, sexuality, and religion
or belief. Our priorites are in customer service, fair
access and treatment, with equalities now closely linked to the
Wales Programme for Improvement.
7. Youth Offending
Service 
Vale of Glamorgan Youth Offending Team is a multi-agency
partnership preventing offending by working with young people,
parents, victims of crime, communities and engaging volunteers.
The Youth Offending Team is a one-stop shop for all young
offenders. with teams of trained professionals with specific
disciplines work together in one office to tackle youth
offending. The YOT is composed of social workers, probation
officers, police officers, education and health workers, and drug
misuse professionals.
