Surgery Times:

All surgeries are held on the first Saturday of every month in the Castleland Community Centre, Belvedere Crescent, Barry between 10:30am and 12pm, no appointment necessary.

 

There are also street surgeries held once a month. See local press for further details.

 

 

Biography:

Chris Elmore was elected to represent the Castleland Ward on the Vale of Glamorgan Council for the first time in May 2008.  Chris lives in the Ward on the Barry Waterfront.

 

Chris graduated in July 2005 from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) with a degree in History and Culture.  He currently works full time, in addition to his work as a Councillor, at the National Assembly for Wales.

 

Since being elected, Chris dedicates as much time as possible to working for the local community, holding monthly surgeries, regular street surgeries and contacting constituents every month with a newsletter.  Chris believes that his role is to help, support and represent every constituent in the Castleland Ward and he does that to the best of his ability.

 

Within his role as a Councillor, Chris sits on the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Community Health Council and the Wales Council for the Deaf, as well as Committees within the Council.

 

As a resident of the local community, Chris is a School Governor at Holton Primary School; Chair of the Management Committee of the Barry YMCA Hub; a member of the Executive Committee that manages the Castleland Community Centre and a member of Castleland Communities First.

 

In 2010-2011 Chris was elected as the Youth Champion for the Vale of Glamorgan, elected by the young people.  He did not seek re-election to the role in 2011.

 

In his spare time, Chris enjoys reading, travelling and listening to music.
