Biography

Cllr Dorothy Turner was born in West Bromwich and brought up in Oldbury.  After attending the local Grammar school and City of Birmingham Training College, Dorothy qualified as a teacher and worked in many primary and special schools in the West Midlands.

She has two children and has recently become a Grandmother for the first time. She was a member of South Glamorgan County Council for a number of years and was shadow chairman of the Education Committee. Since her election to the Vale Council in 2008, Dorothy has been Cabinet Member for Social and Care Services and the lead member for Children. She is also chairman of the Corporate Parenting Panel.

Dorothy has lived in Penarth for 25 years and represents the Cornerswell Ward
