LICENSING SUB-COMMITTEE

 

 

MINUTES of a meeting held on 26^th June, 2007.

 

Present: Councillors Mrs. C.V.L. Clay, J. Clifford and Mrs. V.M. Hartrey.

 

Also present

 

Responsible Authorities: Licensing Officer and Environmental Health Officer.

 

 

(a)            Appointment of Chairman -

 

Councillor Mrs. V.M. Hartrey was elected Chairman for the meeting.

 

 

(b)            Declarations of Interest -

 

No declarations were received.

 

 

(c)            Licensing Act 2003 - Variation of a Premises Licence - The Marine Hotel, Redbrink Crescent, Barry -

 

The Licensing Officer advised the Committee that the application was for a variation to the premises licence to change the layout and design of the premises in accordance with the submitted plan which was attached as part of the application form at Appendix A.  However, Committee was also advised that an e-mail had been received that morning from the Applicant’s solicitors stating that although they had been aware of the hearing on 26^th June, the hearing had actually been marked in their diary for Thursday, 28^th June.  They were currently in their offices at Bristol and there was no agent that could be instructed to attend in their place.  The interested party objector was also not present at the meeting and in light of the solicitor’s e-mail, Committee, having consulted the Council’s Legal Officer

 

RESOLVED - T H A T the application be deferred to be heard at a Licensing Sub-Committee hearing scheduled for 12^th July, 2007 and the Applicant, their solicitors, interested parties and responsible authorities be informed accordingly.
