MINUTES of a meeting held on 26th
March, 2008.
Present: Councillors E. Hacker, A.D. Hampton
and Mrs. V.M. Hartrey.
Also present:
Responsible Authority: Licensing Officer and
South Wales Police.
(a)
Appointment of Chairman –
Councillor Mrs. V.M. Hartrey was elected
Chairman for the duration of the meeting.
(b)
Declarations of Interest -
No declarations were received.
(c)
Licensing Act 2003 - Application to Vary a Premises Licence -
Londis Store, 25-27 Ivor Street, Barry Island -
The Licensing Officer presented the report to
the Committee and stated that the application was for a Variation
of the Premises Licence to Specify the Designated Premises
Supervisor from Mr. Shavinder Singh Mahli to Mrs. Jasbir Kaur
Mahli.
The Committee was also advised that the
Applicants would not be present or represented at the Committee due
to the fact that as a result of an appeal to the Magistrates’ Court
the previous week, the Applicants did not consider it necessary to
be present at the hearing. The Committee was further advised
by the South Wales Police Officer that as a result of the
Magistrates’ Court’s decision to accept the appeal, he had to
withdraw his objection to the application.
Sub-Committee Decision
The Chairman advised that in light of the
withdrawal of the objection by South Wales Police, the
Sub-Committee had no option but to grant the application as
requested.
