270 DECLARATIONS OF
INTEREST -
No declarations were received.
271 MINUTES -
RESOLVED - T H A T the minutes of the meeting
held on 15th April 2008 be approved as a correct record,
it being noted that:
- The detail of
the revised statutory Members’ Code of Conduct had been adopted by
the Council on 23rd April 2008 and that the following
values had been set for the registration of any gift, hospitality,
material benefit or advantage:

- Training
sessions had been held for Vale of Glamorgan Councillors and Town
and Community Councillors on the provisions of the revised Members’
Code of Conduct.

GRANT OF DISPENSATIONS -
The Standards Committee (Grant of
Dispensations) (Wales) Regulations 2001 permitted Members to apply
to the Standards Committee to speak and, if appropriate, to vote on
matters concerning which, due to a prejudicial interest, they might
not otherwise be able to speak or vote.
RESOLVED - T H A T the dispensations as set
out in the schedule overleaf be granted up to the date of the next
Local Government elections, as indicated or refused.

273 MATTER WHICH THE
CHAIRMAN HAD DECIDED WAS URGENT -
RESOLVED - T H A T the following matter which
the Chairman had decided was urgent for the reason indicated under
the minute heading be considered.
274 ALLOWANCES -
Urgent by reason of the need to inform
Members of a recommendation of the Remuneration Panel for
Wales.
The Monitoring Officer advised that the
Remuneration Panel for Wales had issued a report which recommended
that, inter alia, allowances be paid to Members of Standards
Committees, and that any allowances paid be from
1st April 2008.
It was reported that the Council would receive
a report on this matter in the near future.
