Corporate Plan 2006-2010 Annual Monitoring
Purpose of the Report
1. This report
summarises progress made on the actions contained in the Council’s
Corporate Plan 2006-2010.
Recommendations
That Scrutiny Committee (Lifelong Learning)
notes the progress made on implementing the Council’s Corporate
Plan 2006-2010 as identified in the attached schedules.
Reasons for the Recommendations
To ensure that the Corporate Plan is
effectively monitored.
Background
2. The Council’s
Corporate Plan was comprehensively reviewed in 2006. It was
reported to Cabinet on 20 September 2006 and approved by Council on
4 October 2006. A report on progress was made to Cabinet and
Scrutiny Committees in September and October last year.
Relevant Issues and Options
3. The schedules
attached to this report provide an update on progress for
2007-8. As previously, lead Cabinet members and officers are
identified and each target
and action in
the plan has a symbol reflecting progress as follows:
J Completed or on track for completion
within agreed timescales
K Concerns about outcomes not being
achieved within agreed timescales
LSignificant risk of outcomes not being
achieved within agreed timescales.
Resource Implications (Financial and Employment)
4.
The Corporate Plan must
closely align with the Medium Term Financial Plan. All the
actions in the Corporate Plan 2006-2010 are consistent with the
Medium Term Financial Plan.

contains the Council’s key corporate and service objectives.
Stakeholder consultation was an important part of its
preparation.

The Corporate Plan
2006-2010 was approved by Council on 4 October 2006.
Consultation (including Ward Member Consultation)
10. Working
groups of senior officers were closely involved in drafting the
Corporate Plan and in providing the information for this
update.
