Strategic Equality Plan
The Equality Act 2010 requires public
authorities to meet a general duty to positively contribute to a
fairer society through advancing equality and good relations in
their day to day activities.
In addition, the public sector equality duty for Wales requires
public authorities to develop equality objectives and a strategic
equality plan that will help it to meet the general duty. This
means that we are aiming to establish the most important priorities
that will improve fairness in the services that we provide, and to
encourage good relations between residents in the Vale of
Glamorgan.
The Council's strategic equality plan and equality
objectives have now been formally adopted following engagement with
interested parties. The plan and objectives are
