Contacting your council just got easier

 

You now have to remember just one phone number, 01446 700111, to access all council services.

 

Our new contact centre makes it as easy as possible for Vale residents to request a service, report a problem and have queries answered. 

 

The 40 specially-trained and friendly call-handlers at the centre also include eight Welsh speakers, so callers can opt to have their enquiry dealt with in Welsh.

 

How can a call centre improve efficiency?

Contact Centre staff have been trained to deal with a wide range of queries, so if you have several separate queries, they can now all be dealt with centrally rather than you being transferred to separate departments.

 

Currently the contact centre is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, though there are plans to extend the opening hours until 8pm. It is intended to extend this to a 24/7 service as the service expands. Call handlers find that their busiest times are 8.30am to 12pm, with Monday the most popular day for callers.
