Local libraries celebrate 'Ladybird Live'

Two libraries in the Vale of Glamorgan celebrated ‘Ladybird
Live’ last week with special events for local children.
St Athan and Sully libraries took part in the
national Ladybird Books initiative on Thursday 2 June, using
special packs provided by the publisher. The packs included a copy
of The Gingerbread Man which inspired the two groups to decorate
their own gingerbread biscuits.
Andy Griffiths, Community Outreach Officer,
Vale of Glamorgan Libraries, said, “The ‘Ladybird Live’ events were
a great way to encourage more young people to use their local
libraries. Not only were they treated to live storytelling and
nursery rhymes, but they also enjoyed the messy fun of decorating
biscuits afterwards! We also had some great feedback from the
parents who came on the day and hope to hold similar events in the
future.”
