Chambers host council meeting with a difference
A council meeting with a difference has been held at the Vale
of Glamorgan Council's council chambers in Barry after pupils from
Llantwit Major Comprehensive's newly elected school council had the
opportunity to hold a meeting in very official surroundings.
The pupils were greeted at the Civic Offices by Jeff Wyatt,
operational manager for democratic services, before Bryan Jeffreys,
director of learning and development, and Cllr Nigel Gibbs, cabinet
member for education and lifelong learning, joined the group for
their first meeting to be held in the council chambers.
Head boy Nathan Mullett and head girl Charlotte Morgan chaired
the meeting, discussing a number of issues including charity
fundraising in the school, before the meeting culminated in the
pupils posing a series of questions to Bryan Jeffreys and Nigel
Gibbs.
