Certificated achievements for parents at
Holton
Parents of children at Holton Road Primary School, Barry,
were pleased to be presented with certificates recently after
completing a range of valuable qualifications.
Organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s community
enterprise service in partnerhip with Family Learning, the parents
were awarded their certificates, which included qualifications such
as first aid, food hygiene and health and safety, at a special
assembly.
Cllr Tony Hampton, cabinet member for education and lifelong
learning, was keen to congratulate everyone involved. He said: "I
am delighted that the mums and dads have been working so well with
the Community Enterprise Service, and I must compliment the school
for taking part in this excellent scheme. I am very pleased to be
presenting the certificates. The children must be very proud of
their parents."
Sandra Davies, access officer for community enterprise said: "We
are so pleased to be working in partnership with Family Learning,
resulting in many gaining these certificates.
"We’re delighted that parents are joining the Moving On
programme, which began four years ago to help people gain skills
and confidence to plan for the future, and look forward to meeting
many new parents in the future."
