Vale Sports Personality of the Year Awards
Published 15 December 2011
A who's who of local sporting talent will be battling it out
for your nominations for the 2010-11 Vale of Glamorgan Sports
Personality of the Year Awards.
Organised by the Vale District Sports Council and supported
by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s sports and play development
team, the prestigious ceremony will be held in Spring 2012 to
reward sporting success that was achieved during the last two years
– 2010 and 2011.
There are eleven award categories in which you can make
nominations, and you may want to suggest élite performers who made
the headlines during the last year, or individuals and teams who
are making a big impact on the local sporting scene.
For example, it could be a coach who is achieving excellent
results against the odds, or a volunteer who goes the extra mile.
All nominees must either be from the Vale of Glamorgan, currently
live there, or represent a team or club in the county.
A judging panel will whittle the nominations down to the
winners, who will be presented with large glass trophies, while two
runners-up in each category will receive smaller glass trophies.
The winners will also have their names engraved on a shield,
cementing their place in local sporting history.
Nominations can be made online at
www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/sportspersonality by the deadline of
Friday 6th January 2012. For further details about the awards,
please call the Vale Council's Sports and Play Development Manager
Karen Davies on 01446 704793.
