Road

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has submitted a bid for
funding to the Welsh Government to enable it to implement works to
resolve the road safety issues on the Barry Docks Link
Road.
If the bid is successful, the scheme would include the
introduction of traffic signals at the Coldbrook Road East and
Argae Lane junctions with the Barry Docks Link Road. The scheme is
being supported by the South East Wales Transport Alliance and
would be delivered in the new financial year (after 1st April
2012).

Councillor Jeffrey James, Cabinet member for Planning and
Transportation, said:‘The need for new safety measures on this
stretch of road is indisputable and a top priority for the Vale
Council's road safety programme and we are extremely confident that
the bid will be accepted. The Council has an excellent track record
of delivering road safety schemes in recent years, and I am sure
that the ability of this Council to deliver on key road safety
measures will be a factor which the Welsh Government will take into
account when considering the bid.’
