the iPod Touch. |
The aim was to promote the wide range of library services
offered to young people in the area, and to encourage more children
to use the service.
To complete the challenge, participants had to complete five key
tasks. Read a book and post a review online; watch a DVD and
complete a review card; complete a quiz using online resources and
play a game on Wii.
For each task completed, the participant received a free DVD
loan. Those who completed all five tasks were entered into a raffle
to win either an iPod Touch or an iPod Shuffle. The iPod Shuffles
were won by Laura Nicholas (Barry) and Sashini Jayasinghe
(Cowbridge), while the iPod Touch was won by Chloe Marie Wilson
(Barry).
The prizes were presented to the three winners by Councillor
Anthony Hampton at Barry Library who commended the high standard of
entries and encouraged all participants to continue to be regular
visitors at their libraries. The scheme has been so successful that
it is hoped that library service will receive funding to run it
again in all Vale libraries in conjunction with a number of other
South Wales library authorities.
