Library staff receive customer service NVQ awards

Staff at the Vale of Glamorgan Council's County Library in Barry have completed and achieved their NVQ Level 2 Customer Service Certificates.

They were presented with their certificates by Chris Williams and Lisa Taylor of Cardiff and Vale College.

 

Due to the success of the programme other members of staff have now chosen to start the qualification.

 

Alison Singleton, Marie Griffith and Laura Whitmarsh had regular visits from Lisa Taylor, Deputy Coordinator, who carried out observations during their working day.

 

They also answered questions relating to their own knowledge of their job role and gathered evidence to match units in their portfolio.

 

"NVQs are a great way to really think about your job and get recognition for what you do," said Alison.

 

As well as the three staff who completed the NVQ in Customer Service two other staff, Julian Evans and Alyson Hemlock, completed their NVQs in library and Information services.
