Book now for sports First Aid course

A First Aid course for people involved in sports activities will be held at the Barry Community Enterprise Centre, next to Holm View Leisure Centre, on Sunday 11 March.

Organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s sports and play development team, the one day course will cover the treatment of unconscious patients, resuscitation, control of bleeding and the treatment for shock.

It will also look at the contents of a First Aid box and their use, including the dressing and immobilisation of injured parts and the treatment of burns and scalds.

The course will run from 9:30am to 3:30pm and will be delivered by First Aid Supplies & Training (Wales). The course costs £25 per person and anyone who is interested in attending is advised to book their place early as there are only a maximum of 14 spaces available and the deadline for all bookings is Wednesday 29 February.
