Vale is voted a great location to live
The Vale of Glamorgan has been voted one of the best places in
Britain to raise a family. The county was judged fourth out of 408
local authority areas in England, Scotland and Wales.
Reader’s Digest magazine undertook research with 1,162 parents
with children under 16 to discover what they considered most
important in an area for their family. The most important factor
was good state schools, followed by low crime rates, good local
hospitals, affordable family housing and high employment.
Researchers then used the factors highlighted by the families in
conjunction with statistical and demographic information for all
408 areas. Databases used included Home Office crime figures, Land
Registry house price figures and unemployment figures.
