Vale Football Academy continue excellent start to the
season
Talented players from the Vale of Glamorgan’s Football Academy
continued their excellent start to the season with an impressive
two wins and two draws in their latest matches.
The academy, which is run through the Vale Council sports
development unit, played Cardiff City Advanced Coaching Centre at
the Colcot Sports Centre and Jenner Park.
The Vale under-9s side gained a comfortable 5-2 win, while the
under-11s netted an incredible 10 goals without reply. The
under-10s and under-12s drew their matches 3-3 and 2-2
respectively.
Vale academy officer Nathan Nurton was delighted with the
performance of all the sides. “The results are a reflection of the
way the boys are playing together as team units. They showed plenty
of energy, generated moves which they had learned in training and
showed that they have the determination to achieve great
things.”
‘Man of the match’ awards went to Ben Stewart (under-9s), Harry
Lambert (under-10s), Alex Smith (under-11s) and Morgan Williams
(under-12s). All displayed great skills and fitness levels.
