No computer facilities for libraries on
Saturday, 15 December
Due to essential work to upgrade the Vale of Glamorgan
Council’s electricity supply, library servers and computers will be
out of action this Saturday, 15 December.
This means there will be no access to the internet, Microsoft
Office applications and computer equipment such as scanners and,
for the County Library at Barry, it also means that the public will
not be able to telephone the library or access the internet via the
wireless network.
Principal librarian Chris Edwards said: "We apologise for the
inconvenience this will cause. Libraries will be open as usual to
issue and return books, DVDs and CDs on a limited number of staff
PCs using our offline system.
"The work on the electricity supply will continue throughout the
weekend and we hope that our library services will be running
normally some time on Monday morning."
