Three charities will benefit by £1,602 thanks to the festive fundraising efforts of Vale of Glamorgan Mayor Cllr Clive Williams.

With the support of council staff, officers and members, and charity representatives, Cllr Williams organised a Christmas raffle, the proceeds of which went to Barry Mencap, Rookwood Hospital-based Headway Cardiff and East Vale Community Transport, of Penarth.

Mayor's Christmas raffleCllr Williams said: “I am delighted that, with the support of so many people across the whole council and friends and colleagues, I was able to raise such a marvellous amount for these three very worthy causes which I am supporting during my year of office.

“My grateful thanks to the local businesses who offered their support through donations and raffle prizes.”

The top three prizewinners were Mrs S Morgan, from Headway, Mrs J Roberts (East Vale Community Transport) and Mr J Jones, of Barry.
