Vale Woman of the Year
Do you know a very
special woman who has made a difference to the lives of other
people? Is there a woman out there who has had made a positive
impact within the local community?
If so, now is your chance to make sure that
she receives the recognition she deserves.
In celebration of International Women’s Day on
6 March 2008, the Vale of Glamorgan Council is organising the
Vale’s very own ‘Woman of the Year Award’. To qualify, that special
woman must live in the Vale, agree to be nominated and fit one of
the award categories:
- Community woman of the year – for women involved in local
community activities
- Businesswoman of the year – for women who run their own
business or who have made a difference within a business
- Sports volunteer of the year – for involvement in developing
sport
- Public servant of the year – for the dedicated women who
deliver our public services
- Carer of the year – aimed at people who care for others
- Learner of the year – for those involved in developing their
skills and knowledge
- Young achiever of the year - aimed at young women aged 16 –
24
- Woman returner of the year – for those returning to work after
a break from employment
A gala awards evening will take place on
International Women’s Day on 6 March. As well as announcing
