‘Awards for All Wales’ grant for Vale Youth Forum
A lottery award to the Vale Youth Forum will be used in helping
young people to work better together.
The Forum, which is supported by the Vale Council and the
Police, has received £5,000 from the lottery-funded ‘Awards for All
Wales’ programme to purchase a mobile team challenge kit. This
contains equipment on up to 100 games and activities which can be
used with young people in various settings to encourage
communication, team working, emotional literacy and problem solving
skills.
Forum chair Sy Joshua said: “This kit will allow the Forum and
the Vale Youth Service to work together to provide activities that
promote exercise and team building in many different environments,
for example, local parks and other community settings.”
Supported by the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund,
'Awards for All Wales' is one of the quickest ways to secure
lottery money. The scheme has injected grants of between £500 and
£5,000 into a range of heritage, charitable, environmental, health
and educational projects since its launch in 1994.
