School pupils pick up litter in Llantwit Major
Pupils from Llantwit Major Comprehensive School have taken part
in a litter-pick to mark 'Keep Wales Tidy Week'.
The school's headmaster, Dr Brown, said: “The pupils are very
much aware of the environment and issues around sustainability and
conservation. The head boy and girl will take forward the litter
initiative within the school in September, working alongside the
Vale of Glamorgan Council’s enforcement team.”
Denny White, the Vale Council's senior enforcement officer,
expressed her thanks to the school and confirmed Dr Brown’s view
that working in partnership with the community to raise awareness
of environmental crime would result in a much improved environment
for local people to enjoy.
